Therapy for people who feel different, misunderstood, or caught between worlds

Specializing in neurodivergent and Asian & Asian American adults, with additional work with children and adolescents. In person in Marin and San Francisco, and online throughout California.

Welcome

I’m Debbie Vuong, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with more than 25 years of experience. I work especially well with people who have spent a lot of their lives feeling a little different from the people around them — whether because they are neurodivergent, socially unconventional, highly sensitive, or navigating the expectations of more than one culture.

I have a particular interest in working with neurodivergent adults, including people with autism and ADHD, as well as Asian and Asian American adults navigating family expectations, relationships, identity, perfectionism, cultural differences, and the challenge of figuring out what they genuinely want for themselves.

I’m Vietnamese American and bilingual in English and Vietnamese. I understand that family, culture, and identity can matter enormously in therapy, while also recognizing that no two people or families are alike.

My style is warm, curious, relational, and nonjudgmental. I’m less interested in trying to make people fit a particular mold than in understanding how they experience the world, what gets in their way, and what might make life and relationships feel easier and more satisfying.

I also continue to work with children and adolescents, drawing on many years of experience with emotional, social, developmental, and neurodivergence-related concerns.

I offer in-person therapy in San Rafael and San Francisco, as well as telehealth throughout California.
