Young Adulthood and Neurodiversity

Young adulthood is a time of discovery—but for neurodivergent individuals, including those with Autism or ADHD, this period often requires a different map. My work provides a warm and often humorous space where we can explore the nuances of your specific perspective. The more I truly understand how you experience your environment and your relationships, the better I can help you navigate the complexities of adulthood. Rather than focusing on deficits, we prioritize your individual goals and desires to help you find the right landing pad.

What Therapy Will Look Like

Our work together can include looking to understand why you might have certain reactions to experiences in relation to others. We’ll figure out how to “translate” these feelings and internal emotions into actions that make more sense to you and those around you, aligning more with your needs. By fostering flexibility and exploring the feelings underneath your outward behavior, we create space for you to stay true to yourself while navigating a neurotypical world. Our sessions are collaborative and tailored. My focus isn’t about changing you, it’s about meeting you where you’re at and seeing how I can help you make things either better or easier and more of what you want. We will work together with practical strategies and through deeper insight work, always moving at a pace together with you that isn’t too overwhelming or outside your level of comfort. Movement forward is still movement, no matter the speed.

Collaboration

A key part of how I work is joining your “team.” I see myself as part of the community of family, caregivers, and supports that create the environment you need to grow and thrive. Growth doesn’t happen in a vacuum, so our work isn’t just about what we do one-on-one; it’s about the people and systems around you, too. Especially at the start of our work together, we’ll lean on this collective support to create a solid foundation for you. My goal is to be a steady part of that environment until you feel ready and steady enough to navigate your path more independently.
